WESTEND films the 17th century in HD

Between August and November 2008, filming took place for two documentaries on the European settlement of North America in the early 17th century.

Both 52 minute films titled “Leap into the Unknown – William Bradford and the Pilgrim Fathers” and “Pocahontas and Captain John Smith – Love and Survival in Jamestown” are produced in High Definition for ABENTEUER ARTE.

Our team filmed elaborately staged re-enactments at original sites in Massachusetts and Virginia and interviewed Anglo-American as well as Native American historians, scientists and other experts.
